MSC FISHERY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: PROGRESS VERIFICATION
For a fishery that does not yet meet the MSC Standard, Fishery Improvement Project progress verifications are the third step within the Fishery Improvement Project process. A progress verification tracks improvements of the fishery against its goals and continually fine-tunes the action plan.
12 MONTHLY VERIFICATIONSThe MSC in-transition to MSC program requires that, at the end of every 12 months, a Conformity Assessment Body is required to verify the Fishery Improvement Projects progress against its action plan and improvement actions.
bio.inspecta can undertake 12 monthly verification of progress audits.
FisheryProgress.org requires that every three years, comprehensive Fishery Improvement Projects on its portal must arrange an independent, in-person audit of fishery activity and performance against the MSC Standard. The audit must be conducted by either an accredited Conformity Assessment Body, a registered MSC technical consultant or by an individual who has other demonstrated qualifications that meet the FisheryProgress.org criteria. The consultant or Conformity Assessment Body must also be independent of the organisation implementing the Fishery Improvement Project.
bio.inspecta is well qualified to undertake three-yearly Fishery Improvement Projects verifications.
